Photography is the still predecessor of cinematography. This is why the cinematographer is also known as the director of photography. At the end of the day, we both want to tell a story based on an actual event. My film partner has been practising cinematography for the last 12 years, and though we use different methods and technics, the roots of his work are based on photographic rules and theory plus adding kinesis to all that and scenario. Thus, it is essential for the photographer and the cinematographer to have chemistry and help each other for the best result. Therefore, even if we are doing reportage because wedding is a live event, in each chance that we get, we work together to create our mise-en-scène, which means that we do our best to get the visual theme imagined and inspired by one or another, in an artful way.
