Your investment

The photography on your day is only part of the service you get when commissioning a documentary wedding photographer. Another aspect, almost as important, is selecting, editing and displaying the images in a way that gives you a good narrative of the day.

Why get an album ?

After the guests have all departed, the food has been eaten, the flowers have wilted, the celebration and reverly have come to end, now what? The great news is that i have created some amazing images from your wedding day for you to cherish for many years to come. The bad news is that they are living on a computer as ones and zeros. Yes, you do get your full set of 4" x 6" prints and those are great for seeing your wedding at a glance from the comfort of your couch, but those images could be so much more.

A wedding album is the ideal way to truly let one of the happiest days of your lives come to life! It's the final piece of the photography puzzle. Let your story shine on for decades in a custom designed leather bound album that is truly a unique piece of art. I always tell couples that they don't really own their wedding album, but they are merely taking care of it for the next generation.

However, when it comes to real fine art album, a book that’s hand-crafted using inks that will never fade or discolour, an heirloom that is designed to last a life-time, the choices become a lot more discerning.

The Highest quality

After many years of searching for the very best album company i am confident i have finally found them. These albums are to die for and become instant family heirlooms right out of the box! Each album is hand crafted, right- there, in New Zealand. Fine silk bookbinding fabrics from Japan, exceptional leather from France and Germany. The inside pages are made for actual photographic prints and then mounted to thick archival boards.

Books or Albums?

The difference between books and albums The images in Q-Books are printed directly onto the pages. As a result the pages can be lighter and more flexible, and, as we describe in the following section, the book can hold more of them. In albums, the printed images are generally mounted on to solid base pages. Albums turn images into art, like works framed in a very personal gallery. In the past the prints were always mounted behind mats, but today's albums are often unmatted ("flushmount").

How many photos are in the Album?

As many as it takes to tell your wedding story! The Albums come with a physical limit on the number of sides not images. Some sides have ten images; some may have just one. It all depends on the design. Most couples go for around 90-150 images in an album.

How does the album design process work?

After you have selected you favourite images, i will invite you for an album consultation where you will confirm the design; We will then create an initial album layout that tells the story of the day. I want it to be perfect so, after we have designed the album, i will upload it in your personal gallery for  your approval. This is when you can change a few of the images or add/remove any sides. Three rounds of changes is included in your package; further change requests may be chargeable.

Can we have parent albums?

Yes of course. We can also design mini albums for friends and family.

How long will it take before we receive our album?

It takes up to 8 weeks from the time that you approve the layout.

How long after the wedding do we have to select an album or enlargements?

I will safely archive your images for up to one year after the last event of your wedding. I recommend that you purchase an album or enlargements before then

A note about my books

You will always get the digital images of course, but on a very personal basis, I strongly believe that a photograph is not a photograph unless it’s printed.

A wedding book is a family heirloom and I still look at my parents wedding book from 1965.

I work very closely with my album supplier and they produce for me the most gorgeous matted albums I believe you get on the market place today.
